"A game of saavy planning and corporate conquest"

Years ago, one of old young men's leaders Brother Beckstead introduced my friends and I to the greatest board game ever, Acquire. After some pretty intense games, I bought my own copy on ebay and was surprised when it arrived and some of the peices hadn't even been opened even though the game was manufactured in the 50's. Score. I told a bunch of people about my new purchase and we battled it out regularly. My memory is fuzzy but I'm pretty sure I went undefeated. :)

I used it for a while, but someone (I'm convinced) stole it. It's possible it was just misplaced, but the stealing story sounds way more hardcore so I'll stick with that. Either way, I completely forgot about the game until recently. After remembering about it and how much fun it was, I went out and bought another copy...

And it's still the greatest board game ever made! It's a little like Monopoly but doesn't take as long. The newer version I have now is a lot cheaper (in price and quality), but the gameplay is still great. If you ever get a chance to play, try it out!

This is the best game ever. Well, besides Scrabble. I can't believe you don't remember that I told you how much I love this game!

You actually have time to play games?

If I may...I'd like to challenge you to a game of Acquire while I'm in town?? I've never played it nor have I ever heard of it BUT I am up to the challenge of ending your winning streak :)

I loved this game. I remember I was so sad when it was "stolen". If you come to Texas with us, and by that I mean WHEN you come to Texas with us, you must bring it with you and we can have a freaking sweet Aquire tournament with the whole family!!!

Also, I would like to know why I am not listed on your blog links. This makes me feel hurt. I am going to go cry now.

Oh man. How sad I am that all of our time playing Risk has been relegated to second place...

Sara - Your complaint has been remedied. I was unaware you had a blog.

Mike - Risk is sweet, especially when Aaron is throwing out ridiculous threats and trying to use his "Australian" strategy, but Acquire is tough to beat. Maybe we need to get some guys together and play again so I can make a more informed judgment.
