A Stroll Through the Presidio
I got home from work today and realized I had nothing at all to do. With all my studying for the CFA exam the last few months, along with not leaving work until 7 or later some nights, that hasn't happened very often. After grabbing something to eat, I decided to use the evening to do some exploring in my neighborhood, the Presidio.
As I walked through the forest near the shoreline, I started thinking about how often I used to explore forests in Texas and England with my brothers when we were little. I remembered we used to have this awesome tree in our backyard we called the "music tree"... It had fallen over and lay on the ground, and we would make up songs by drumming the trunk and different size branches. We would seriously spend hours out there laughing and having fun, until it was dark or we had to go in for dinner. Later in that same backyard we decided to have a bonfire without telling mom or dad. We just dug a hole in the ground and starting lighting wood on fire until it suddenly dawned on us how stupid our idea was.
Luckily we were able to put it out before anything bad happened. :)
My stroll through the Presidio was exactly what I needed. It was so great to take some time to enjoy the outdoors and feel at peace about everything. I sometimes forget how important that is.

Great post--it was fun to get a glimpse into your childhood..sounds like you have many great memories! That picture is intense too!! : )
Time to get a girlfriend. Walks are for senior citizens.
Yes! I loved the 'music tree'!!! Seriously one of my best memories from England. Glad you feel the same. Good to have you back in the blogging world my brother.
Also, I resent the sentence "with my brothers". Pretty sure I was there too...occasionally...when you guys would let me play with you.
